The staff at Melia were incredibly helpful and were a high point of our stay. I was alos impressed with the rooms, roof garden and breakfast.
This hotel is located in a very dodgy area of Athens.

Spacious room, powerfull jacuzzi, very kind staff at the reception.
Every noise from the street could be heard in the room (although it was located at 8th floor). The swimming pool at the roof was very nice, but opened to public only until 6pm.

It was a haven in the centre of a crazy city. We loved the rooftop pool and also had a nice meal there in the evening with amazing views of the Parthenon and Lycabettus Hill. We stayed in a deluxe room which was very comfortable and the bathroom with jacuzzi bath was lovely.
The staff were helpful but one or two of them lacked the warmth and friendliness that can make all the difference to your perception of service. Perhaps due to the economic state of the country, we noticed a huge number of drug addicts and homeless people on the streets. It wasn't pleasant at all. We were in Athens only 4 months prior to this visit and it has got so much worse. The latter point, of couse, is not the Hotel's fault but visitors should be aware.

Attentive staff and luxurious accommodation. Fabulous food in the restaurant for breakfast at decidedly lower prices. Exceptionally nice location, near a museum and historic sites etc. Proximity to restaurants and cafes.

The facility and location is not too far from the Metro.
- The hotel staff gave us hard time to understand on what he said. His accent is unique and not easy for us to capture. - The hotel staff surprised me advising only to buy tours and take taxi. I wanna know which tour is good and how to go by metro, not taxi that parked outside the hotel. - WIFI is only at lobby. - The location is reachable via walk, however, at night there are lots of street people (drunk & seems to be homeless) all along the way back to hotel. This caused us unsafe feeling.

I am not sure if its really a five star hotel as I think the comfort and teh fasciities are not upto five star mark
We had requested for gluten free breakfast at the time of our booking. No one had a clue about it. AT the time of check in we were promised that we will be served Gluten free breakfast later we found out it was just a empty promise. To our surprise the second morning it was the same. I was rudely told that they will refund our breakfast money which they never did.

Room comfort
I would seriously advise against anyone travelling to this hotel in the current climate. We had to cross streets full of very threatening men and gangs of Eastern European youths - drug use is openly happening on the streets here. All of the shops close as soon as the sun goes down . Frightening, very frightening and not safe area of athens.

We had such a relaxing time at the hotel, especially enjoying the rooftop pool and the fantastic views of the Acropolis. The spa offered some soothing massages, and the outdoor lounging area was perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The breakfast area felt a little cramped during peak hours, but it didn't take away from our overall enjoyment 😊

The room was very spacious, bathroom had a spa which was great and the best of all was the Roof Garden which contained a bar, pool, spa and the best view of the parthenon and the whole city.. Loved it!
There was nothing about the hotel and their services I did not like.

The Supreme Room was spacious and well-equipped, and the breakfast was a hit with the kids. They devoured the variety of pastries and cooked options. The staff even tucked our special plush toy in during cleaning, a nice touch.
My kids wished there was a dedicated play area for them. It would be great to have activities tailored for families.

Well-designed and spacious room and general air of quality and comfort in the hotel. Wonderful views including the Acropolis from the roof-top restaurant.
The food in the cafe and restaurant was disappointingly non-Greek. The area around the hotel is rather run-down after four years of recession on Greece.
